Appointment of Executive Director by the Balfour Project

15 January 2025

The Balfour Project is delighted to announce the appointment of Brian Brivati as its first Executive Director as of today, 15 January 2025. This appointment marks an important step forward in the growth of the charity as an effective British advocate for peace with justice and equality for Palestinians and Israelis alike.

Brian brings a wealth of skills and experience to this new post at the helm of the charity. An historian of the modern British Labour Party and of genocide, he combines deep knowledge of the thinking of our government with the passion of a lifelong advocate for human rights globally. Brian has had many years of fieldwork in the Middle East, Africa and Ukraine, leading capacity-building projects. He is also a respected British academic.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am thrilled to be able to welcome Brian to our ranks and invite you, our growing family of loyal supporters, to extend the same trust to him as you have to the volunteers and part-time staff responsible until now for our vital work in public education, historical research and advocacy over Palestine/Israel.

As this tragic conflict enters a new, and potentially decisive, phase, British leadership in seeking a lasting, just and peaceful solution will be needed more than ever. The Balfour Project is honoured to have your support in working towards that goal.

If you have any questions, reflections or suggestions for the future work of the Balfour Project, Brian will be glad to hear from you direct. His email address is brian@balfourproject.org.
