British Palestinians urge UK arms and trade embargo on Israel

The report British Military Collaboration with Israel (January 2025), published by the British Palestinian Committee, examines the extent of the United Kingdom’s military ties with Israel and their implications under international law.
It argues that the UK’s support—through arms exports, military logistics, and intelligence cooperation—contributes to Israel’s military operations in Gaza and raises concerns about potential breaches of international humanitarian law. The report further claims that the UK is failing in its legal responsibilities by continuing military collaboration despite evidence of human rights violations.
While some of its conclusions—particularly those regarding legal complicity in genocide—rely on interpretations of international law that are contested and are based on judgments that have not yet been made by the International Criminal Court, the report presents extensive documentation on arms transfers, defence industry cooperation, and military deployments.
The report calls for an immediate end to UK military collaboration with Israel, a full arms embargo, economic and diplomatic sanctions and support for international legal proceedings against Israeli officials. It warns that failure to act could have legal and diplomatic consequences for the UK government.    The Balfour Project invites you to make your own assessment and calls on the UK Government to respond to the Report.
