NI is unique in having a prominent display of solidarity with both Israel and Palestine, dating back many years and a perceived higher awareness of the situation in the region amongst the public than other areas of the UK. However, in the rest of the UK, there is currently a lack of awareness and exploration of the strong sentiments of solidarity for Israel and Palestine in Northern Ireland.
This project will address this lack of awareness and exploration of the strong sentiments of solidarity for Israel and Palestine in Northern Ireland. This project will create a space for dialogue on Israel and Palestine between opposing communities in NI and create a space for the voices of Palestinians/Israelis/people with a personal connection to the region to be heard in NI, a region of the UK which is often neglected and overlooked in both British and Irish representation.
